Nova News Network – Alien Miners

Welcome to a special report from Nova News Network. We come to you from one of our industrial planets so rumours about unfair treatment of aliens in Nova Industries mines can be put to rest. Commander Shepard prides herself in giving work opportunities even to the lowliest of life forms and believes accusations about discrimination were unjustified and uncalled for. By her own words:

“It doesn’t matter if you were born less significant, everyone deserves to have a job.”

Nova Industries miners are provided with the best quality pickaxes in the galaxy to assure efficient workflow for mining precious materials that fuel the industrial machine. When asked why arguably more advanced mining lasers or droids are not in use the Commander replied:

“Droids would take away jobs from the less fortunate and pickaxes provide an excellent opportunity for a daily workout to keep our workers fit and healthy.”

One of more senior looking alien miners was willing to show us its work tool and workplace, though our team wasn’t fully sure what it wanted. Our xenologists believe the squeaking and strange noises were attempted to communicate but this theory remains unproven. More popular theory is that Basic is just too advanced for lesser species to master. After further investigation it became more apparent the miners have formed small communities which in some cases mimicked a human family.

We have questioned one of such communities of more advanced aliens able to speak Bacis and found out they were fortunate enough to be offered a work placement after one of their off-springs managed to destroy a corporate property of high value during prototype testing with Dark Skies Gearworks company. Nova Industries were gracious enough to offer them an opportunity to pay off their debt to the corporation after a lost lawsuit. Because they lost everything the Kel-Dor species community was grateful for accommodations and food every day in the mines.

To address wild accusations about underage alien off-springs working in the mines Commander Shepard has issued following statement:

“As we would not employ human children, we do not employ undeveloped alien off springs. Those are shipped off to Hutt enrichment centres to study in entertainment and business. However Nova Industries is equal opportunity employer that offers job to midgets and small sized aliens as well.”

In conclusion we have found nothing out of the ordinary or anything that would suggest alien discrimination. All workers are provided with an excellent training, state of the art equipment and living space.

This report was brought to you by Nova Industries in cooperation with Dark Skies Gearworks.
